01

Name the party making the promise

Ask whether the advertised protection is a manufacturer warranty, a seller’s agreement or a separately purchased service product. Obtain the provider’s identity and applicable written terms. A general statement that the car is under warranty is incomplete when it does not identify who will decide or fulfil a claim.

The new and used sourcing guide distinguishes vehicle condition from supporting evidence. New status does not itself establish destination coverage, while a used vehicle may have a specific arrangement requiring separate review. Do not treat a promotional headline as a complete description of either situation.

02

Ask about the actual destination

Give the provider the vehicle identity, original market, proposed destination and relevant ownership circumstances. Request a response that addresses that transaction. Coverage described for the original retail market should not automatically be presented as worldwide support for an independently exported car.

If the provider cannot confirm the proposed route, record coverage as unresolved rather than assuming either acceptance or refusal. The purpose of the enquiry is to obtain usable evidence. A dealer’s confidence about a different export does not settle the terms that apply to this vehicle and customer.

03

Establish the start and remaining scope

Request the start event and date used by the provider, together with relevant age or mileage limits in the applicable terms. Check the vehicle’s actual records before calculating any remaining period. Production date, first registration and the warranty start event should not be silently treated as the same thing.

Ask which components and situations are included and which are excluded. A broad powertrain description may leave important detail unresolved, and a separate accessory may have another provider. Keep the actual written scope attached to the offer instead of converting a headline into a more extensive promise.

04

Clarify ownership and service conditions

Ask the provider whether transfer, use category or maintenance requirements affect the proposed arrangement. Do not invent a universal rule that all coverage transfers or that all exports cancel it. The answer should come from the party responsible for the specific protection and its applicable terms.

Use the Seltos maintenance record review to organise evidence the provider requests. Distinguish available invoices from missing history and ask how gaps will be treated. A seller saying that service was regular does not establish that the documents satisfy a particular provider’s requirements.

05

Identify the practical claim route

Confirm where the buyer would report a concern, who can authorise assessment or repairs and which provider would carry out the work. Ask how costs and any required transport are handled under the actual agreement. A nominal coverage period has limited practical value if the claim process remains unexplained.

Do not assume that an unrelated destination workshop must accept the arrangement. Ask that workshop and the named provider about their respective roles. If pre-authorisation is required, the customer needs to know the process before approving work, rather than discovering a disagreement after an invoice has been paid.

06

Resolve conflicting statements before pricing

If the seller and provider give different answers, retain both and request clarification for the identified vehicle. Do not choose the more favourable statement simply because it makes the quotation easier to sell. Keep disputed coverage outside a confirmed benefit until the responsible party resolves it.

The quotation-scope guide helps show whether any separately priced protection is included. Compare vehicles with their confirmed terms visible. If one offer has no established destination coverage, price it on that basis instead of assigning an invented monetary value to a promise that has not been verified.

07

Put the confirmed position in the handover

For a Seltos enquiry, tell Panda the destination, accepted years, new or used preference and whether a specified support arrangement is a purchase condition. Request written vehicle-specific confirmation where coverage is offered. Panda’s sourcing discussion should not be mistaken for a manufacturer’s acceptance of a claim.

Keep the final terms, provider contacts and relevant records with the accepted vehicle. If the buyer, destination, vehicle or ownership arrangement changes, ask whether the earlier confirmation still applies. The customer should receive a clear statement of confirmed scope and pending questions, rather than a shortened guarantee that omits material qualifications.
