Use the right market reference
Kia America’s all-new 2027 Seltos material describes AWD offerings, including a hybrid e-AWD application. That US reference does not establish the specification or availability of a China-market vehicle. It also does not make different AWD systems mechanically interchangeable for maintenance or parts enquiries.
The 2027 model-year guide explains why the market belongs beside the year. Ask for the original model designation and powertrain, not just a photograph with an AWD badge. If the requested combination is not established for the proposed market, have the supplier clarify the discrepancy before quoting it as available.
Define why AWD is requested
Ask the customer whether AWD is mandatory for a known operating requirement or simply preferred. Describe normal roads, weather and access conditions, and discuss suitability with an appropriate local provider. A vehicle’s drive arrangement is only one part of its fit for those circumstances.
Do not equate AWD with unrestricted off-road capability or a guarantee of braking performance. Tyres, vehicle condition and operating limits still matter. A buyer using ordinary paved routes may evaluate different alternatives from one with a fixed drive-system requirement; the quotation should preserve that distinction instead of silently substituting.
Verify the offered configuration
Request production and configuration records connected to the vehicle identity. Where useful, have a competent inspector corroborate the drive layout on the actual car. Marketing trim names, rear badges and dashboard graphics are supporting clues rather than a complete technical identification.
Use the powertrain record to keep engine, transmission, drive system and any electrification together. A hybrid and a conventional petrol AWD car need separate descriptions. If documents and physical findings disagree, resolve the cause instead of choosing the version description that makes the offer more attractive.
Review tyres as an actual fitted set
Ask for each wheel position’s tyre specification and condition, then have a suitable provider assess the set against the applicable vehicle requirements. Include any disclosed wheel changes. Four tyres that share a visible brand name are not enough to establish their suitability for the identified application.
Where replacement is recommended, request the completed package and verification scope before adding it to the budget. Do not prescribe a universal wear difference or matching rule for all Seltos AWD variants. The correct instructions and technical assessment should determine what is acceptable on that specific car.
Check support for the identified system
Give the receiving workshop the verified configuration before asking about routine maintenance and diagnostic capability. Discuss the relevant components and any reported concern. Familiarity with a front-wheel-drive Seltos or a different hybrid does not automatically establish support for every AWD application sold elsewhere.
The service-planning guide helps organise invoices, operating history and outstanding work. Keep a replacement-part price separate from a complete repair proposal. If the support answer remains uncertain, that uncertainty belongs in the buying decision even when the vehicle currently drives without an obvious symptom.
Compare offers with the differences visible
Prepare separate rows for vehicle price, condition, necessary work, equipment and the verified drive arrangement. Do not attribute the entire price difference to AWD if the two cars also differ in age, engine or history. Name those differences so the customer can decide what is worth paying for.
For a dealer batch, identify which customers require AWD and which accept FWD. Avoid using one car’s configuration report to describe the whole shipment. Every substituted candidate must be checked against the relevant customer’s requirement, especially when broad translated trim labels conceal different mechanical specifications.
Request a sourcing answer you can use
Tell Panda the destination, quantity, acceptable years and whether the requirement is AWD only or open to alternatives. State the intended use and any workshop support constraints. Ask for a verified proposal rather than assuming that a version advertised in another country can be supplied on the same terms.
For new cars, confirm production specification and delivery evidence. For used cars, add condition and maintenance review. Retain the agreed drive-system description in the handover file, and require a fresh review if a substitution changes the market, powertrain or support position.
