Find the specification before requesting prices
Start with the applicable vehicle information, tyre placard and verified wheel configuration. Record the complete size and relevant load and speed requirements, rather than sending a supplier only the words Seltos tyres. Different markets, builds or approved wheel options can need different specifications. Do not assume that the tyre currently fitted is the correct reference if the car has been modified.
Photographs of every tyre marking and the wheels help the service provider understand the request, but suitability should be confirmed by an appropriate professional. Use the equipment record to retain disclosed wheel changes. Where the original specification and fitted set disagree, resolve the discrepancy before ordering; a cheap replacement in the wrong fitment does not represent a saving for the buyer.
When choosing between fitted arrangements, the wheel-choice comparison compares supported specification, road needs and finished replacement scope.
Assess all four positions and the emergency provision
Request a position-by-position condition record, including visible wear, damage, repairs and the information the assessor can read. One attractive sidewall photograph cannot establish the condition of the entire set. Uneven wear should prompt appropriate investigation rather than an automatic promise that fitting new tyres will resolve its cause. Ask the assessor to describe any limitations in the inspection.
Include the spare or mobility kit where fitted. The spare-wheel and tool-kit checklist explains why that equipment belongs in the supplied-item record. New vehicles held in stock also need present-condition checks; the word new does not establish that every tyre and emergency consumable is ready for delivery. Keep missing items separate from the cost of replacing the road tyres.
Request a complete fitted quotation
Name the proposed tyre make, product, specification and quantity, then ask which services are included. Fitting, balancing, valves, disposal and applicable taxes can change the total compared with a bare tyre price. If alignment or additional investigation is recommended, obtain its reason and scope rather than assuming every tyre quotation includes the same workshop services.
Ask how tyre-pressure monitoring will be handled where the system is fitted, including any relevant valve, sensor or setup work. Do not promise that a warning will disappear merely because the tyres are replaced. A quote should separate confirmed work from diagnostic possibilities. The dealer price review helps carry the accepted workshop scope into the overall purchase without silently counting an item twice.
Consider drivetrain and matching requirements
Confirm whether the actual Seltos is front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive before requesting advice on replacement strategy. The drivetrain identification guide separates market availability from the offered car’s build. Ask the service provider to apply the relevant requirements for tyre compatibility and replacement to that specific vehicle, rather than adopting one rule for every Seltos.
Do not change wheel diameter, tyre construction or other fitment characteristics solely to obtain a lower price without verifying approval and suitability. The customer’s roads, intended use and local supply also matter. A proposed substitute should have a clear specification and supportable suitability, not just a similar appearance. Keep the accepted configuration with the vehicle file so the receiving dealer knows what was supplied.
Compare local support as well as the initial amount
Ask whether the proposed tyre is normally available through the receiving service network and whether a compatible replacement can be sourced later. A one-time bargain may be less attractive if the buyer cannot obtain appropriate support in the destination. Do not claim a universal best brand or guaranteed service life; usage, roads, maintenance and the specific product influence those outcomes.
If several offers need different amounts of tyre work, compare the assessed requirements and fully fitted estimates in a common currency and dated scope. Keep the supplier’s quote validity visible. For a dealer batch, record tyre findings per vehicle instead of applying the cost of one inspected set to every car. Similar mileage and matching wheels do not establish identical wear or preparation needs.
Check the completed work at handover
Request an invoice or completion record identifying the installed tyres, quantity and services performed. Compare that with the accepted proposal, and ask for any unresolved pressure-system warning or alignment concern to remain visible. A promise of new tyres should not be closed simply because different tyres appear in a dispatch photograph; the buyer needs to know what was fitted.
Send Panda the destination and any essential tyre or wheel requirements with the sourcing brief. If the buyer will arrange work locally, record that responsibility and retain the assessment used for the estimate. The running-cost worksheet can then separate agreed purchase preparation from future replacement planning. This produces a usable budget while preserving the distinction between a verified fitment, a current observation and a future cost assumption.
