01

Translate a technology label into a request

Ask whether the customer wants a particular warning, cruise function, lane-related assistance or parking feature. An ADAS label groups several possibilities without confirming which are installed. Write the requested functions separately and retain the original-market wording where terminology differs. A long advertised list should not substitute for a supported equipment record.

Use the verified trim checklist to establish configuration. A newer market introduction may describe systems that are not fitted to an earlier vehicle or are packaged differently on another version. Do not fill an offer's missing fields from the most attractive global brochure. For a buyer who needs only one function, ask whether another verified candidate provides it without paying for unrelated equipment.

02

Separate equipment identity from operating evidence

Photographs of steering-wheel controls or sensors can support identification, but cannot establish the complete operating state. Request the applicable instructions and an assessment appropriate to the actual systems. Any practical demonstration should be safe, lawful and carried out by a competent person. Never attempt to provoke a collision or deliberately rely on intervention to test a feature.

Retain warnings, unavailable functions and diagnostic findings as separate entries. A system may have conditions or limitations that are important to the customer's route. A dashboard icon disappearing does not prove that a previously reported issue is resolved. Keep configuration, observed operation and further assessment distinct so the dealer does not advertise a function beyond the available evidence.

03

Review condition that can change the proposition

Ask about work involving relevant glass, bumpers, body panels or sensing equipment and whether appropriate subsequent checks were completed. Do not conclude that every replaced panel causes an assistance fault, or that every tidy repair preserves all functions. The responsible provider should identify the checks needed for the fitted systems and record their results.

The collision-repair buying guide treats the wider condition decision separately. A feature premium may be poor value when its required support is unresolved. Obtain a finished remedy scope rather than pricing a visible sensor alone. Availability of suitable receiving-market support matters because an exported candidate should not be described as locally supported merely because the feature name is familiar.

04

Compare the premium with ordinary driving needs

A motorway-oriented customer may value a verified assistance function differently from a buyer making short urban journeys. Neither usage pattern allows the driver to relinquish responsibility. Ask the customer to distinguish essential equipment from a desirable addition and to acknowledge relevant limitations. Keep parking needs in the camera and parking-function review rather than assuming every driver-assistance package covers them.

For quotation purposes, separate the equipment premium, confirmed preparation and pending assessment. Compare an alternative without the requested technology if the buyer is genuinely open to it. If the function is mandatory, a cheaper unverified car is not an equivalent alternative. This protects the useful requirement without treating a package badge as a guarantee of superior overall condition.

05

Preserve an honest dealer description

The handover record should name the systems supported by the actual configuration, the evidence reviewed and any unresolved limitations. Avoid broad phrases such as full self-driving or guaranteed protection. A retail explanation should also make clear which owner instructions apply and which claims have not been confirmed for destination use.

For a batch, repeat the equipment check per candidate. Matching trim labels do not eliminate the need to establish each unit's installed systems and condition. A substituted car should be compared against the same mandatory-function list. Accept the higher trim only when the verified benefit remains worthwhile after support and preparation are considered.

For the corresponding purchase record, review the used kia seltos inspection alongside these decision-specific findings.

06

A practical shortlist example

Suppose a buyer requests one particular cruise function but receives a higher-trim offer with a broad assistance label. First identify that required system and obtain the applicable instructions and suitable evidence. The other advertised features do not compensate if the essential function is absent or unsupported. A second car with fewer options may still be a relevant alternative if it meets the actual requirement.

Where prior work affects an area relevant to the fitted systems, ask the responsible provider what follow-up assessment is appropriate. Keep the answer and any limitations beside the candidate record. The final premium decision should reflect confirmed useful equipment rather than an impression that a longer technology list guarantees better safety or reduces driver responsibility.

Buyer questions

Does driver assistance mean autonomous driving?

No. Understand the actual functions and instructions; the driver remains responsible for operating the vehicle.

Can matching trims prove matching systems?

No. Market, build and later work can differ. Retain candidate-specific equipment and condition records.
